Strong Women, Strong Bones

Back to the Services Page
  • Are you strong enough to live your life without injury?
  • Are you strong enough to do what you want to do?

Hairston & Daley Physical Therapy has started an exciting strength training program for women. The Strong Women Program was developed by Miriam Nelson, PhD, an associate professor at the School of Nutrition and Policy at Tufts University in Boston.

The Strong Women Program is based on years of research on how strength training and proper nutrition improves the health of women of all ages. "Strength is a critical factor in living healthier more active lives. The research shows that a program of strength training not only improves bone density but reduces falls, improves arthritis symptoms, and increases flexibility and strength," states Dr. Nelson. The program is appropriate for both active and sedentary women ages 40 to 70 years of age.

Tim Daley, PT and Gretchen Daley, OTR, have trained with Dr. Nelson and are affiliated with the Strong Women national program. Please call for class schedule.
